Restless, Found, & Love, Skip, Jump

Here is a list of the books that I’m excited to read on my upcoming trip to California in a few weeks.

All four of these are relatively new and have come out within the past year. They also all received really good reviews so I’m looking forward to reading them for myself.

Found by Micha Boyett

Why Not Today by Matthew Cork & Kenneth Kemp

Love Skip Jump by Shelene Bryan

Restless by Jennie Allen

If you’ve read any of them, let me know what you think. Any other book recommendations for the summer?

My 1-Minute Meditation Routine

photo-30

For about 6 months now I have been trying to add meditation into my daily routine. The problem is that I can never seem to keep it going for more than a week…To be honest, the whole situation is really confusing because when I do it I love how it makes me feel and then I can never figure out why I can’t seem to do it consistently.

I have finally come to the conclusion that I would rather meditate for 1 minute a day rather than doing it sporadically for 5-15 minutes every couple of weeks. I think so many of us just need to build a consistent routine into our lives so that is what I am going to do with meditation this upcoming year. I have never really been a fan of “New Years Resolutions” and I really try to incorporate new resolutions and changes throughout the year rather than putting all of the pressure on the month of January. However, January 2013 holds an unusually special place in my heart because that is when I am leaving on the World Race so it is certainly a time of new beginnings for me in many aspects of my life.

I will let you know how things go with my new “meditation routine” and if you already have a routine in place feel free to let me know what works for you! Even if it’s not about meditation I would love to hear about it.
